In Venezuela, the Supreme Court of Justice concluded the analysis of the evidence that validates the re-election of President Nicolás Maduro.

This main seat of the Supreme Court of Justice has once again become the center of attention in Venezuela. The president of the court and the Electoral Chamber was in charge of reading the final sentence of the contentious appeal on the results of the July 28 elections to ambassadors and officials.

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Caryslia Rodríguez declared that based on the results obtained in the expert process “we can conclude that the bulletins issued by the National Electoral Council relating to the 2024 presidential elections are supported by the notices issued by each of the voting machines used in the electoral process. And these minutes also fully coincide with the records in the databases of the national totalization centers.”

Thus, the president detailed the reasons for a decision that cannot be appealed. And it also includes other considerations, such as the contempt of candidate Edmundo González, who is now one step away from legal decisions against him.

In his decision, the supreme authorities asked the Venezuelan attorney general to advance the criminal investigation against those responsible for the website where the opposition uploaded alleged electoral records, with which they declared themselves winners.

In this way, the Supreme Court of Justice put an end to weeks of tension, especially in the media and foreign governments, and ratified the results of the last presidential elections on July 28 and the new mandate of Nicolás Maduro, starting in 2025.
